A Trillium Awakening sitting is a meeting led by a teacher of Trillium Awakening, sometimes assisted by a mentor.  It consists of gazing meditation followed by an opportunity for questions or to share what is happening in your awakening and deepening realization.

In the Trillium Awakening process, the teachers, mentors and many others are effortlessly being and embodying the paradox of human life:both  infinite and conditional.  Their confidence in being creates a “field effect” in the room, which transmits to all present.  This  “transmission” has proven to be a powerful catalyst for awakening.

In the gazing meditation, the teacher and mentor will spend a few moments looking into your eyes in silent communion.  Nothing is expected of you, (nor are you required to participate--simply close your eyes if you wish). In turn, the teacher is not doing anything to you, energetically or otherwise.  This is simply an opportunity for an intensification of the teacher’s transmission of embodied awakening.

Please note that we have a policy of confidentiality.  This means we don’t speak outside the meeting about what is disclosed by any of the participants, even to them.  We don’t even mention to others who is present at the meetings.

The assurance of confidentiality provides a  safe place for participants to share what is currently “up” for them, to speak more authentically than may feel safe or appropriate in most social situations. This could be an issue you are struggling with or a reaction to something someone else has shared, as well as insights or realizations. It is also an opportunity to to access deeper feelings and bring forth aspects of yourself that are still not clearly understood or comprehended.

A sitting is similar to “satsang” in that it is a group associated together for the purpose of speaking our truth.  In the Trillium Awakening work, however, our “story”--the details of our life--are held in the same sacred regard and given the same weight as the undifferentiated, infinite ground of our being.

Although sharing is invited and encouraged, it is not required.  If you do speak, you may notice that daring to speak into the room what you are feeling or experiencing is transformational and will further your process of deeper realization.

In turn, when someone else is speaking their experience, you might practice listening deeply to them and to your own reactions and responses.  In the context of a sitting, we have found it most helpful not to try to “fix” our discomfort.  Holding our own and other’s experience, no matter how uncomfortable, actually allows our deeper intelligence to guide the process of healing.

After your first sitting, $10 per sitting is requested toward the support of our local teachers.

Sittings are only one of many formats in the Trillium Awakening work which catalyze awakening.  For deeper exploration, unfolding and embodiment of your whole being, both human and divine, we encourage you to make use of all the resources offered in the Trillium Awakening community, including the friendship and support of others involved in the work, personal sessions with teachers and mentors, and longer events such as Trillium Awakening Weekends and retreats.
